It is really easy, "even" means the rest of "divide by 2" operation is 0 "odd" on other case. something like: int main( int ac, char *av[] ) { int n = sscanf( av[1], "%d", &n ); return n % 2 ? 1 : 0; } exit code of that program will be 1 if given number is "odd", or 0 if given number is "even". You didn't tell us what operating system you are using, I can write you simple test for POSIX system (any unix or linux) Actually I did it already :) And of course the price for this project is over over priced, I think $50 is more than enough, including my explanation and comments in source.
