I am looking to get a business logo and website set up for a newly started company specialising in maintenance, repair and management of their prized assets eg: properties, watercraft, cars etc. I’m a carpenter/builder by trade but can literally do anything in the construction/mechanical industry. I am working on a house from 1806 I am a carpenter. I sistered up some 2x10 Douglass fir #2 grade joists to the old 2x6 joists at about 13’ 3” and my span chart from my 2015 IRC book says it can do 14’. I have 2 rooms like this. Only one room had a header. As you can see from the pictures I put squash blocking in between all the old joists so I had a ledger to attach and hang my new 2x10 joists from. So basically I was told by a fellow contractor that those would most likely not hold but my span chart says otherwise. These are also nailed and lagged together through all the original joists and I lifted the second floor to get the sag out of the old beams before sistered them up and lagging through them all.
